These smooth, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate truffles are simple to make and perfect as a gift for special occasions.
With the richness of couverture chocolate, the creaminess of fresh cream, and the aromatic hint of Grand Marnier, every bite offers a touch of elegance.
📝 Ingredients (makes about 15–20 pieces)
- 70g milk couverture chocolate
- 70g dark couverture chocolate
- 70g heavy cream
- 14g trimoline (or honey)
- 15g Grand Marnier
👩🏻🍳 Instructions
- Prepare the chocolate
Finely chop the milk and dark couverture chocolate and place them together in a heatproof bowl. - Heat the cream
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream and trimoline over low heat until it just begins to bubble around the edges. - Make the ganache
Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for 1–2 minutes. Then gently stir until the mixture becomes smooth and glossy. - Add the liqueur
Once the ganache is well combined, add the Grand Marnier and mix until fully incorporated. - Chill the ganache
Transfer the ganache to a container, cover, and refrigerate for 3–4 hours or until firm. - Shape & finish
Scoop the chilled ganache and roll it into small balls.
Coat them with a thin layer of tempered chocolate, then finish by evenly dusting with cocoa powder.
💡 Tips
- If you don’t have trimoline, you can substitute with honey or corn syrup, though the texture and sweetness may vary slightly.
- For variations, try coating with matcha powder, freeze-dried fruit dust, or crushed nuts.
